Michele Smith
Our Founder
Michele is a dedicated wife and mother of two who has long harbored a profound passion for serving fellow moms and their children, both within her local community and on a global scale. Over the years, she’s actively engaged with Embrace Grace, an organization close to her heart, but eventually, she sensed a divine calling from God to establish a non-profit of her own. This vision was fueled by a desire to address the unmet needs of mothers within her community.
In January 2021, Michele’s dream became a reality with the creation of Furnished by Grace, a non-profit that provides support to mothers in the DFW metroplex. Since its inception, Furnished by Grace has made a tangible impact, touching the lives of numerous moms in the region.
Through Michele’s unwavering dedication and the organization’s compassionate support of members, donors, and volunteers, Furnished by Grace has impacted the lives of many by offering vital resources and aid no matter the circumstance. As a result, Furnished by Grace continues to flourish, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of these mothers and their children, fostering a sense of hope and empowerment within the community.

Do I qualify?
Furnished By Grace serves single moms within North Texas. We keep our service area focused in order to offer meaningful, personal support to each mother we serve. If you're outside our service area—or need services beyond what we provide—we encourage you to take a look at resources listed on our page to connect with local churches or nonprofits in your community.
To apply, you must be currently attending—or have previously completed—an Embrace Grace or Embrace Life group. These groups create powerful community and spiritual support for single moms, and we love partnering with them to meet tangible needs. If you haven’t joined one yet, we highly encourage you to start that journey!
Our mission is to help single moms who are in a season of need and do not have access to essentials like a crib, bedding, or a car seat. Whether you’re preparing to welcome a new baby or working to create a safe space for your child, we want to step in with grace and generosity. Your story is welcome here—real, honest, and full of hope.
We also welcome referrals from pregnancy centers and social workers. If you’ve been connected through a trusted organization or advocate, you’re encouraged to apply. We’ve been honored to serve moms referred by social workers and community partners, and we’re grateful for these ongoing collaborations.
